Whenever I see elaborate stuff like this, I can't help wondering if I've got more eye flexibility than the average Joe. Before I got my Miyauchi 22 x 60's, I built a binocular out of two slimline Opticron 60mm spotting scopes with (I think) 18-36x zoom eyepieces and 45 degree inclined viewing. 'Collimation' was achieved with cardboard shims between the two barrels, which were bound together with gaffer tape. The scopes had a greater diameter than my IPD, so I toed the eyepieces inward to suit. The whole was then gaffer-taped to the platform of an old wooden Gandolfi tripod. It worked! (but the Miyauchi on a Slik D20 was much better ).

The side of this scope is almost flat, suggesting a close fit of two scopes together is possible.
There are ready made large binoscopes, but we love to tinker.
