it was a gem to use.



Well... yeah! :lol:

Here's that old gem way back in '86 carrying the original C-8 ota and a 5.5" f/3.6 Schmidt-newt Comet Catcher (I still have). It weighed about 7 lbs. so that was the max I ever loaded it with. The Comet Catcher gave a nice wide true fov of 2.63 degrees to alternate with the C-8's. These days there's much better options and wider fov possible with some small refractors. :grin:

Beautiful looking scope , I am a recient convert to the joys of a good SCT having just got a nice 2nd hand C9.25 CF , lovely scope .
On the Vixen SP mounts , here is mine under my Takahashi SKY90 , an awesome partnership that works very well .

Thanks for the replies Jan and Brian! :) Both the C-8's and SP mt. are great to use in a variety of ways.

Very nice scope and I love the palms - To me that means a nice warm climate Wish I was there Very cold here
