Locoman,

What exactly do you mean by "free shipping?" You bought the 6" OTA by itself with no shipping charge?

Woodland Hills has free shipping for orders over $200. I just added enough small items that I needed anyway to top $200 in order to avoid shipping charges.

Mike

The ad on there web site said "Free Shipping" when I ordered it! I don't think it was a special because it was free free shipping for a long time and the C6-N that they sell came with free shipping to for a long time but the free shipping went away the same time as did the 150 XLT.

So I had to buy $11 worth of other goodies to get free shipping. I don't see this as a big deal. eh...

It's not a big deal! I would have done the same as you if the free shipping was not there. But it was there when I ordered it!

If anyone else orders the 6" scope, they really should bump the total up to $200 to get the free shipping.

They were selling the scope for $189 with free shipping as a special for a while.

That was true for my order, made on 03/01/2013

Has anyone else received their scope yet? I ordered mine 15 days ago and am still waiting for an email with tracking number. I received a couple accessories that I ordered along with the scope, but no scope so far.

I may cancel if I don't receive a "Your Order Has Shipped" email soon. The more an order is delayed, the longer I have to reconsider the purchase, and the higher the probability that I'll cancel it.

I already have a 5" f/5 Newt with a 2" focuser. But the 6" f/5 will give me greater light grasp, a not much smaller TFOV and a Crayford focuser. The focuser looks low, so it should give me more flexibility in the eyepieces and accessories that will be able to come to focus. I will probably sell the 5" f/5 when/if I receive the 6".

Hello Mike,

Hope you are well.

Give them a call it is a toll free number. They told me that they regularly get stock of these telescopes and that they are selling out rapidly. They will know when the next order is in, and you can make sure that your order did not get lost!

So far this telescope has got to be the bargain to beat at the moment. Where else can you get 6" of aperture for the price of a 2" diagonal? I mean if I had to build this telescope it would cost me way more in parts than buying it as a whole. Worth it to call them.

Later,

Tony

Yeah, I just gave them a call right before I posted my last message to this thread. Someone is supposed to give me a call back. Hate that.

The idea that an order can get lost infuriates me even more. It has happened to me before, for example, when I ordered a new Moon Atlas not long ago from a different vendor ('nuff said). I believe someone in Eastern Europe got theirs before I got mine ... because they had lost the order - actually, they never even opened my email! :flame: Even the most intelligent people can be ... never mind.

But in this case, they got the order, got my money, and have sent me a couple emails ... just not an email saying the scope has shipped.

So how could they have possibly "lost" my order?

Well, Woodland Hills told me through Live Chat that they are still awaiting arrival of more Omni XLT 150 and will let me know when they ship. Which is pretty much what I thought.

Hello Mike,

That is a little unsat to leave Folks hanging like that. Hopefully this gets resolved without them 'losing' your order again.

Well, it's been 30 days since I ordered my 6" OTA. Still no email saying "Your Order has Shipped." Still no scope. Has anyone else received theirs?

Anyone else thinking about cancelling their order? I think mine was already charged to my card. Not good.

I have a C6, a 6" Mak and a 5" f/5 Dob. Do I really need this 6" f/5 Dob? I was going to sell the 5", but no use doing that if I don't get the 6".

Mike, maybe a call to High Point is in order. As for do you need it? Well, aperture increases are always welcome and I'm sure you could raise half the funds from the sale of the 5" reflector. This super cold "Spring" makes the waiting a bit easier.

I didn't order it from High Point. What does High Point have to do with it? I ordered the telescope from Woodland Hills.

I already called them on 3/18/13, about two weeks ago. Read about it in my post farther back in the thread.

I sent an email and got a response. They're still waiting for the shipment of XLT 150's to come in. I guess I'll hang in there...

Is this scope being sold as an OTA only or only as the package with the CG-4 mount?

$270 now! very bad experience with them, resell customer returning as new with defect. refused exchange. I need to pay $170 shipping then get $190 refund, so ridiculous!Customer service told me $190 for omni 150 OTA is still good deal even with problems, even no warranty!
Finally, got replacement from celestron for free.

I just looked at there web site and your right, I can't believe the price went up $80.00. They still list it with a helical focuser and a diagonal. I ordered mine on Feb 22nd and was told when I ordered it that it was in stock but I am still waiting. Not good!

the price changed this morning or last night,
http://www.ebay.com/...rt-Compact-2...

these from other dealer, I called them, looks like no factory warranty, just "store warranty", i guess $190 OTA should be customer no reason returning. but "like new" condition. if $190 with "free shipping", that should be with defect. they just want to clear out. Celestron maybe stop provide OTA to WH. That is why "Call for Availability".

If price around $300 I prefer to choose Orion 8" OTA.

All from synta,same acuracy.

The Orion 203 OTA is 11 1/2 inches longer and 4 1/2 lbs heavier than the Omni 150 which would require a beefier mount than what I have. WH's does have the C6-N (which I own) for $199.00. Just add something cheap to make it over $200.00 and you would get free shipping. The focuser is it's only drawback but I have reworked mine and got excellent results.
