Hi I have an Asus Nexus 7, do you know any soft which turns the display to a red tint? I do know of soft which has integrated red display style, but I'd like something more elaborate, sometimes its necessary to change to different apps. Thanks!
Without rooting your Android, I don't know anything. Screen Dim is an integrated dimmer...

AND it's worth mentioning.. this app DOES NOT need root.
Edit: There is a paid($1.95) ad free version if one should so choose to support the the developer.

The effect that I'm getting is the same type render that I'd get if I actually had a physical red filter film on my device. I still see colors slightly in the screen items. So it's not a true convert everything to red and others to black. SkySafari looks better in regular mode than using the in app "night mode" in conjunction with the filter app...try playing around with the opacity and brightness sliders to get it to a happy medium. I can turn my screen brightness WAY down further then with the stock settings. IMO I think it's going to be fine for my needs. It's definitely going to be better than accidently backing out out of my "night mode" astronomy apps or the screen timing out and having to be blinded by the lock screen on unlocking.

I can grab a screenshot of where I have my sliders set if anyone's interested. I also had to turn up the name intensity on objects in Skysafari to be able to see them better.
That would be helpful.
I use Screendim myself, have you tried that?

The really bad thing that I don't like about this app is that it doesn't color the ENTIRE screen on my tablet, an Asus transformer. The soft keys and notifications corner stay the same brightness as without the filter app on.. :-(

Try Omega Centauri GB Keybord with Sky Safari.
The Omega Centauri keyboard in the red mode plus screen dim plus Sky Safari...

I've put in a feature request to the dev of Night Filter to see about having the on screen buttons go to the little dots as they do in SkySafari when in night mode.
