I have an old style ETX 125. The old mount is fairly shot, so I purchased a replacement mount.

The newer mount looks beautiful, and has metal components and actual precision bearings instead of all the plastic parts. I'm sure it is much smoother and more precise.

UNFORTUNATELY - the old OTA attaches slightly differently to the fork mounts and will not attach correctly to the new mount. The old OTA has a slot in it on the back side that the forks clicked into.

Does anyone have a fix for this? Could I cut or alter the forks to allow mounting the scope, or somehow use the old forks (it doesn't appear they would work).

Or - does anyone have one of the (cringe) old style plastic mounts I could buy? Or would someone trade OTAs? This one is very nice optically.

I'm trying to fix up a scope for a friend, and this has me flummoxed...

Thanks for any help or advice

Ben
