Hiya folks. I just learned that I've been assigned as a co-moderator for this great forum, so I just wanted to say a short 'hello'.

Hi Rex;

Glad to have ya...I have always been happy with the fact that Cloudy Nights is a moderated site. Don't have to put up with 12 year olds trying to start fights and other unsavory behavior. It does keep the conversation more friendly.

See ya;
Steve Coe

Alrighty.

Welcome.

I am Kraus. I got hooked on this hobby in 1984. Bought a cheap 60mm at the local duty-free store. Took it out that night. Looked at a 'star'. It had a funny shape to it. Upped the maginification and wow oh wow, it was Saturn. Not such a cheap scope afterall eh.

Hi Rex..welcome to the forum. Lots of great information here. My wife is from Moore, Okla. and her parents now live in Alva. Where do you live in OK?

Thanks very much everyone. Bill, I live in Midwest City, a suburb just east of Oklahoma City. Unfortunately, I have to drive quite a way to get away from the OKC light dome.

Yes, lots of lights around OKC. I couldn't believe how dark the skies are at my in-laws house in Alva. They live in a green-blue zone.
