The story about the origin of the newly found Imilchil continues
to amaze me. Two beautiful lakes high in the Atlas Mountains
probably created when the huge iron meteorite broke up in two,
75 and 50 m. i diameter.
The legend of the Imilchil lakes, The lovers tears that formed
the two lakes. This legend is in perfect line of the origin
and story of another wonderful meteorite from the same mountains,
Oued El Hadjar. At meteorite that fell some years ago a few meters
away from a young girl, that was preparing her wedding.
I got a small complete shrapnel and I'm definitely in the
market for an etched sample.

The story about the find, the developing science about the fall, craters and meteorite. And of course the legend about the craters/lakes.
Maybe I'll take a vacation in the area and go explore on my own.
So I bought quite a few new specimens and even more small fragments is on the way.
I probably make some kind of display with Imilchil.

BTW: I have a question regarding these shrapnels. They all seem to have a hollow side and on the smaller ones they are are pretty deep relative to size of the specimen.
Does anyone know why? or is it just a coincidence?
