Hi all,

Further playing with the new camera last night, lots to see and image under 7/10 seeing and no wind to speak of this time!

Never noticed the one solitary very shallow crater in the middle of the bay, all the others seem much deeper

You could have convinced me that this was a shot from an Apollo mission or the LRO. This is fantastic. I think Wes Higgins got replaced. Sorry, Wes!

Thanks everyone! :jump: The seeing was quite good but not as good as it can get here, I think it really helped that I had 3X's the number of frames to choose the best ones from, plus the quality of each single frame was good.

Kutno this was done with my 18" dob.

Its todays LPOD:

Wonderful capture, Mike. Just curious...

What do you think is the diameter of the smallest craters visible, for example the one right next to the shallow crater you referred to in your OP?

Beautiful picture! It's great to read the story that it describes by Dr. Wood. Congrats on the recognition.

Thanks again everyone! Yes I was super happy with this one!

Jim in my opinion the resolution is in the 400-500 meter range, although I may have to up the image scale slightly in the future to achieve better (if the seeing allows)

cheers

I have had a similar view of this region, one spectacular night, which I never forgot.

Mike,

Another great image, but a bit over sharpened. The first image you posted was cleaner.
