The Bay always seemed so tranquil... Until seeing these images, I never would have realized that it's a pretty choppy sea of ray ejecta and craterlet-pox! Absolutely amazing!

Thanks everyone!! Yes it is a "busy" place when the seeing lets you capture the details! But I think Jim is right I oversharpened it a bit :o Still with the new camera giving such good data I got a bit carried away with the new toy syndrome!

fingers crossed for good seeing again tonight at my "condor landing site" overlooking the ocean!

Okay, so I just finished yesterday downloading the 60 meter/pixel moon maps. Thinking this must be the best I can get since it is a satellite orbiting the moon, I was satisfied with the resolution, until...
I see THIS! Now I am just angry at the poor quality of the moon map textures.

Phenomenal picture! Ever thought of making a mosaic of the moon? With pictures like that, you could easily destroy all the latest textures that are available online.
Do you have any other formats of the picture you uploaded, such as a higher resolution? I would love to put that on my tv for an evening and watch that rather than a mind numbing tv program when it is cloudy.
Yet again, mind blowing picture!!!

thanks Bluesteel, Qwickdraw, and Ben!

Bluesteel, I don't think I could do a mosaic since the tracking in my scope is alt/az. My max resolution is around 300M so any LRO imagery is still going to be much higher res than any of my shots. My current camera is the 1280X960 Asi120mm, but I have my eye on other much larger chipped cameras to give a large fov.

Wow.....One of finest lunar photgraphs I have ever seen. How do I hitch a ride on your next lunar flight?
