Here is my first attempt at Solar imaging, what do you think. This was the first time trying to image and first time using the DMK41. For those who use the DMK41 and single stacked 60, do you barlow or use a power mate? I tried using my 2.5 power mate, but couldn't get the sun in the camera, not sure if it was a backfocus issue. I was able to see everything fine with the powermate and eyepiece, just not the camera.

Any tips or comments always welcomed especially since this is my first attempt.

Great start Richard! Not sure of the best combo for the 60 but if you can see it in focus visually I assume that you should be OK with the camera. Was the image not in focus or was there no image at all in the camera?

Great start - I think the 2.5 , DMK41 and LS60 should reach focus. I use DMK's but the ones all around yours, 21, 31 and 51.
When you go from prime to 2.5 you must re-tweak exposure etc.

So thank you for the comments. Yes i was able to visually see it with the 2.5, but as Matt suggested I didn't even think to readjust the exposure. I bet that was my biggest issue.

@matt how do you like the 51? I was going to get it, but the drop in frame rate worried me.

I love the 51 - full discs with the 60 is what I enjoy the most. The frame rate works OK with the low res set up. I take about 1.5 minutes of data and it seems to work a treat.
I was inspired to get the 51 for the solar eclipse in November (did not have it for the VT). We have another partial solar in May - looking forward to that!
