Hi.

Magnificent day today with very active sun. I spent at least 2 hours in my dome. Lot to sketch. Once again, full disk made in the morning and close ups in the afternoon.

Andre.

André:

Your sketches are amazing. I have been looking at them every day you submit them. I bet you must have explained your technique in the past. Do you have a link? I am interested in how you do it. Thanks, Kent

Fascinating to see. Thanks so much for the links. When I first saw your sketches I thought they were pictures. I saw the proms as I had seen them in my LS100. I have the LS100 and LS100F double stack. Now if you are seeing these proms like in the sketches at that power (as you say you do in one of the links), I want an LS152 :). Is your seeing always that good to get the high power or do these views come and go. I love the LS100 but can't help but wonder what the LS152 would be like. Thanks again!

Kent

I compared my today's captures from the paper to the eyepiece and believe me, that's the size I see them in my FOV, no fake. At 225 or 300X, they looks really big and detailed when seeing is excellent. But unfortunately, it's very rare I can go theses magnifications. Just look on my sketches my observerving conditions according to atmosphere and convecting het around my dome from roof tops. From 3.5 to 5 it's pretty good. At 3.5 like today, that mean I get some moment of great stability for short period of time permitting me to magnify and sketch high details between two waves of unstable air.

Thank you Jean.

Very interesting series, I was wondering how you were sketching with a higher solar activity, well, you get there with brio!
Anyway, I'm still waiting for a large prot. as the radius of the lunar orbit... Wait and see...

Thank you my friends. I will really miss the sun when he will enter the low activity period.

Nice work again Andre. I am really enjoying your sketches, we have had nothing but clouds for several days.

Looking forward to your site to see more of your work.

Clear skies
