All? Not quite but it can certainly tell you an awful lot about the general capabilities (good power, motors, gears, hand controller functions, etc.). You will obviously not be able to asses the final accuracy of the initial alignment as it affects gotos and the tracking accuracy of the polar alignment.

Aside from ensuring that most things are working properly some of the biggest benefits of running indoors is getting used to the initial alignment process, inputting data correctly, and some of the other setup/configuration items.

Set it to the align marks, do a Quick Align.

You can also do the 2* auto align, the scope slews to where it thinks the stars are and you just press enter and align when prompted. Even add calib stars, then do a polar align.

If this sort of thing works and the HC buttons and gotos seem to go to the right sort of place there isn't much that could not be working.

Best way to learn how to use a new mount. Received mine last week and just took it out for the first time last night.
