Hi.

As per demand from a user, here two pics showing the kind of pencils I'm using to sketch the sun. First, I'm using a clip board to hold my stencil.

As for the pencils

1 Staedtler HB for the sunspots

1 Staedtler 2H for the sunspot's penumbra

1 Staedtler orange 5mm lead of pencil for the full disk proms

1 progresso #22 brownish color for the chromosphere

2 progresso #9 orange for proms

3 progresso #2 yellowish for white areas

For sure I also use an eraser and a pencil sharpener. Also note that the progresso pencils are very very and very fragile pencils. Don't let them falling on ground, they break for sure as there is no wood but only a big lead of pencil.

Andre.

Andre,
Thank you for sharing. Very interesting pencils. Your sketches are always beautiful. After viewing I am saving up for a solar telescope.

Hope to see more of your drawings.

Happy Birthday. :)

Tom.

I'm glad to show all of you my tools. I can't use the Progresso pencils for the proms on the full disk as I can't make them sharp enough for the very fine details. The 0.5mm pencil is just perfect for this purpose and what it's fun, they have the orange color.

Thank you my friends.

Michel, I already posted pictures of my scope, so I don't think it's necessary to post it again.
