Hi!

My name's Ted, and I like to post under the handle of "Silver Bear".

Lately, I got re-acquainted with an old flame after a 30 year separation. Always loved astronomy, but never had the time to pursue it, until recently. Came across this sight just a day or two ago, and had many bugging questions answered here...so I can say thanks as well as hello to all here.

Calm air and dark skies,

Thanks!

Being new to astronomy forums...I'm seeing all these equipment listings in the sign-off space...am I missing something here?

Hi Ted, yes, some of us for various reasons will list our astrogear or at least the major rigs like the telescopes we own. Some members also may have a favorite quote as well. You can fix this up by going to "My Home" then "Personal Information." When you get there, scroll down to "Signature" to write whatever you'd like to be your "signature" or "trailer."

This is a great board with lots of seasoned amateurs glad to answer any questions. Best regards,

Thanks, Mark. Have perused several of the other categories in these forums, and have observed what you said.

I have been interested in astronomy since I was a small boy, and have amassed a lot of head knowledge over the years. However, time kept me from doing little more than admiring the constellations and looking at some favorite objects with binoculars when the opportunity arose. Hence, walking the skies with a telescope is at the novice level...and I forsee lots of questions that need answers.
