I hope it's just a poor Aprils fool? Certainly not legitimate and I hope no one even thinks of placing an order!

Well, looks like a mainland site "If you want to contact us, pls send an email to us vacuumcupshop@hotmail.com, or call us directly +86 15914079613"
The PRC doesn't have what you'd call really strong consumer protection laws. Enjoy your plastic Tak :ooo:

According to the country calling code, they're in China. An imitation product with a highjacked name is a possible answer.

What's funny is they only take pay-pal, and without a doubt pay-pal will reimburse you for scams.(I've been there) Like they say tho... "if it's too good to be true it probably is"

I don't quite get it. It looks like a lot of effort went into that site, but they're not going to fool anyone.

Meanwhile, their Vacuumcupshop.com website has some crazy high prices.

Celestron 8" CPC for $477
Celestron 11" CPC for $439
Celestron 11" CPC bundle $136
Celestron 8SE $432
Celestron 8SE bundle $358

Sounds a bit scammy to me.
I think I'll pass.

It could be someone just "messed up" the currency conversion math ... not likely. Or, it's the old "bait and switch" routine ... advertise a ridiculously low price and when the buyer calls, he's told the item is no longer available and he's "switched" to a higher price item ... maybe. Or, just an out and out scam ... most likely.

All I can say is : "A fool and his money are soon parted." ;)

The Takahashi prices should be the dead giveaway. The bottom end Takahashi is still ridiculously expensive, and the top end ones on the page are in the $4K-10K range normally.

A fool and his money may soon be parted.

In case you guys didn't notice, what is even stranger is the fact the prices on some models like the Meade 80ex and Astromaster 70 seem correct while the bigger names are cheaper.

I started a pseudo purchase. The shipping calculator doesn't work and the PayPal link has a problem. That's enough for me.
