This is my first time posting in this forum. It took me a while to work up the nerve to post a sketch! If any of the more experienced sketchers out there have any helpful comments or suggestions, I would really appreciate them.

The sketch is of Cassini. I haven't worked my way up to sketching at the eyepiece, so this is done from a sketch I came across while doing a web search. The original that I drew from was by Geoff Burt, Hampshire Astronomical Group.

This is a fine way to get started. You can also sketch from photos to get some practice before a direct eyepiece view and sketch. Practice is all it takes.

Very Nice, A good idea for myself to try the Moon from a picture. I never thought of it!

You have don a great Job. Be sure to check Frank's Gallery his lunar drawings are amazing.

Nice work. You shame me! My Lunar work is virtually zero; I need to address that!

Er... Is this really your first sketch? Well, if it is you have a lot of talent and I can't wait to see your first eyepiece work. Congratulations!

Well done, as others we are waiting for your first live one. A suggestion, try to isolate a more simple crater first, all of them are so artistics !
Look at the Zeno post. I post it for you, just a 10 min sketch at the eyepiece yesterday.
