Hi All,

Imaged Saturn last night in quite reasonable seeing with the intention of capturing the long lived dark spot as per the projected position from my drift chart.

Have measured the dark spot to be at L3 149.1 Lat +45.5 there is also a prominent bright spot leading the dark spot at L3 136.1 Lat +49

I am off down to Adelaide for surgery to have the wires that have been holding my wrist together removed, hope the grafted ligament has been successful.

I would have been cheesed right off if I missed good seeing but it looks like it will be less than great until I return.

Thanks for looking.

Regards
Trevor

Trevor, those are outstanding images. The R animation is really incredible.

Good luck with the wrists.

Trevor, I like the R and IR animations each for a separate reason; the R reveals the velocity of both the dark spot and the vertices of the polar hex while the IR focuses on the dark spot and the banding at the pole. All in all a very nice tour of Saturn's surface dynamics. I hope all goes well in Adelaide, I'm sure it will.

Hi Trevor,

Really great work, your Saturn shows tremendous detail!

I'm sure your wrist will completely heal given enough time, take it easy.

Best wishes... clear skies, Dan

Thanks very much Martus for your very generous comment.

Thanks very much Paul, I probably should be too ashamed to admit it but since building this telescope I have not looked through an eyepiece with it. All of my time goes into imaging with it. Reckon I will have to rectify this situation shortly.

Thanks very much Frank, just finished packing the car for the trip.

Thanks very much Paul.B.J.

Thanks very much Pete, it has been really awkward this last 6 weeks rotating my manual filter wheel, they left just enough of my fingers out of the plaster cast to, sort of, manage it.

Thanks very much Torsten, your most excellent FireCapture certainly makes capturing data easier.

Thanks very much Dan, appreciate your sentiments.

Oh my gosh Trevor you deserve a motorized filter wheel unless there's an advantage to a manual filter wheel that I hadn't thought of?
