On the iOpton web site I noticed a $128 base for adding new Alt-Az capability to an existing iEQ45. An email from iOptron support confirmed that existing mounts can be upgraded. I also noticed firmware upgrades for Alt-Az for the mount boards and 8407 controller. I plan to quiz them further in person at NEAF this weekend.

A retrofit option is certainly nice.

More info - iOptron tech support reports that an iEQ45 AZ at NEAF will show their new dual saddle hardware for mounting two scopes in place of a scope and a counterweight.
