So...it looks like the iEQ45 has been upgraded for 2013.According to their site it has..
Losmandy/Vixen dual saddle
Some gear improvements
Die-caste metal tripod spreader/tray
The thing that I have found interesting is that it is supposed to have a new worm for RA. Which is to be made available at a modest price for all existing iEQ5 mounts as an upgrade. :jump:

Two observation on iOptron as a vender:

1. They are refining their mounts at a fast pace

2. They are not leaving their existing customers behind

and they still havent come out with an inexpensive renishaw endcoder iEQ45GT... :grin:
