Hi All,
Im looking to replace my latitude adjustment bolts on my Sirius mount but have been unable to source them here in the US...does anyone know what the bolt size is so that I can just go get replacements?

Thanks!

Have you contacted Orion customer support?

If Orion can't help, an industrial fastener dealer should be able to match them. The only complication is that you will get screws or hex head bolts. Then, you will need a screwdriver or wrench to make adjustments.

Are these the stainless steel M10 bolts? Don't the tips of the bolts also need to be rounded? You can do that yourself with a dremel. Just be sure to thread a pair of nuts onto the bolt beforehand (or have a die handy) to chase the threads afterwards.

I've replaced mine and added handles to the bolt heads as well. I will see if I can find the receipt in my email. I found them in the US. I'll post something tomorrow.

Here you go. The company is www.boltdepot.com. I bought several lengths. I believe I used one 75mm and one 80mm length. I bought them back in November of 2010 but I did check the company is still there.

Metric hex bolts, Metric full thread (tap) bolts, Stainless A-2 (18-8), 10mm x 1.5 x 75mm

The product numbers were 6012 and 6013 for the two lengths.

Now if you want knobs to go with that I got them through Grainger. item: 3GEV3 description: Snap Lock Star Knob

18-8 Stainless Steel Knurl Head Extended Point Thumb Screw, M10 Thread, 76mm Length, 1.5mm Pitch

I used these on my Atlas EQ-G. Dunno if the Sirius is the same diameter, pitch, etc.

Regards,

Jim
