We seem to have lost satellites in Sky Safari Plus, on both our iPhone and iPad.

When I go to Search Satellites, I see only 3: HST, ISS, and TIANGONG.

I've tried all manner of settings changes and can't bring back the full
list. I've restarted SS, reset the iPhone, etc. and nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

Subject line of this post changed at the poster's request.

We had someone else report something similar in SkySafari as well. There must have been a temporary glitch at the CelesTrak site where we download the data. It is working now.

Try doing a manual "Update Minor Body Orbit Data" from the Solar System settings.

And here I was thinking you had to steal the satellites back from Sky Safari so they could be used in Satellite Safari. :)

Bill, I had tried that before posting, but maybe they were still having problems. I'm giving it another try right as I type--keeping the proverbial fingers crossed...

Reporting back.

Success! Whew! Back in business. Thanks!

Moderators: i'm the OP--please change the title of the thread. It's misleading. It should have read:

Sky Safari seems to be missing its list of satellites. Any advice?

Left as is, it makes it sound as if the new SS satellite app had vanished. I do not want to be guilty of the same misleading titling problem that the Stellarium: R.I.P. thread had.

Thanks!
