SkyQ wifi adapter and Nexstar 11 Gps and 5i

i'm a new member of that great astronomy forum. I'm writing from Italy and I have two scopes: one Nexstar 11 gps and than a nexstar 5i. I would ask you if anyone of you has tried to connect to computer these old scopes by the new SkyQ wifi adapter. Both scopes have the aux port.
Best thanks for reply, sorry for my basic english.

From what I've read SkyQ doesn't sound quite as nice, but you can connect to a PC.You can't use the hand control buttons after aligning via SkyQ apparently, with Sky Safari you can drive the scope from the iPad or HC, whichever is most handy.

Bump. Anyone know if SkyQ wireless adapter is compatible with the Nexstar 5i?

I was told that the SkyQ would NOT work with the GPS 11. I have one and called Celestron support and they said no - the logic board will not work with it. However, I have perfect wireless control with a SkiFi wireless controller and SkySafari.

You can set the name of the domain to whatever you want so only people who choose your name in their wifi picker will 'talk' to your wifi unit/scope. If 2 people still have the default name (highly likely) then yes, there will be problems.
