Took this one over the weekend with the AT8IN trying out the new Moonlite focuser. This was taken with a Canon T3 and I used a CGEM DX mount and Orion ST80 with SSAG.
30X300sec with 25 darks, 30 flats, and 20 bias

Thanks! This galaxy is much bigger than I was expecting. It was quite large on the Canon T3 chip even at only 800mm focal length. Debating on using the C8 for M101 but I sure do love using the AT8IN now with the new Moonlite focuser! Imaging at f/4 is nice and I always seem to pick up at least a few galaxies in the background. M101 is quite large with low surface brightness so I think the AT8IN will be the chosen one once again. I'm sure it will get used much more now with the new Moonlite. The AT8IN is a really nice astrograph but that factory focuser is by far the weak link in the ota. Its truly a dream machine now, just need the High Res Stepper Motor and Controller! :yay:

Nice image! Yes, NGC 4565 is quite a bit bigger than you expect.
