Picked it up today at Astronomics. Seems very solid.

Polar scope has a machined flat spot so that it goes in only one way and the reticle is always correctly aligned.

The Reticle. Looks confusing but, "there's an App for that..."

The App is $1.99 but, with your device's ability to 'use your location' it figures out everything you need to put Polaris where the green dot is.

Attention Mount Manufacturers: This polar scope reticle system is WAAAAAAY better than any other that I have used. You know the ones with a picture of the Big Dipper and Cassiopea which you have to line up as well as those 5.5 mag stars in Cepheus.....

I'm going to find a way to use it with my Mach 1. Maybe the reticle or the entire scope will fit in my AP Mach 1 ....

David,
Sweet looking mount. I agree the iOptron polar scope is awesome. I also use the app with my IEQ45.

Thanks for posting pics of the reticle image and matching app image :) It gave me a bit of inspiration to try something similar in my own HTML5 app. My assumption is that the larger/outer ring is for 'Sigma Octantis' alignment for southern viewers (?). I read up a bit on it, and it sounds like it is a challenge to use...
