I have seen some pics of people with holders for their iPads mounted to their telescopes. Especially Dobs. I would love to see some pictures and find out how others have accomplished this.

Thanks in advance.

Okay. I am going to answer my own question. Sort of.

In surfing around I found the Tablet Stalk II by Markless Astronomics. In turn I ordered the components to start this project from Moonlight.

I think I want to experiment with a holder or a shelf to hold my iPad.

More to come.

Do you want a shelf with a security lock so the tablet wont go walking?

There's several makers that can attach to 1" post.

I don't yet Danny. I don't do a lot of star party observing so right now that is not a concern. But in the future...we'll see.

Rammount.com has a lot of options. I know them for motorcycle gps mounts. Strong product.

here's a holder we use at work, as you may be able to see there is a nice thumbscrew on the back that can be use to mount to any pivot thingy that you can attach to your 1" pole.

I bought an Otterbox Defender - which has the case that iPad fits into, then a snap on cover. The cover can attached to either the front or the back of the case. I mounted the cover on the scope.
