Saw on SpaceDaily that someone claims to have fragments of the Tunguska object. http://www.spacedail...nts_Discover...

From the picture with the article, I have to say they look rather strange to me. I've never seen a meteorite with a cavity like the one shown and one of them looks a lot like an iron carbonate concretion. Hard to really say from the photos but has anyone seen better pics or technical analysis of the stones?

Those aren't meteorites. It's another unfortunate case of wishful thinking from a "scientist" who published his results in an official-sounding venue/journal that is not peer-reviewed.

This "paper" was published in a venue that is similar to a press release. Almost anyone can publish something there, and some sketchy papers have been seen there before. The blogs, media, and aggregators just pick these stories up and repeat them without any type of review or vetting.
