I know one person doing this in Pa, and he is very pleased. Just collecting reports because I am in the mood to get something better than my entry level LXD75 but still stay portable so I don't have to breath hard. And, I want things to point and track better for my astro video work.

CN member Michael Rapp went to a iEQ45 from the LXD75. Seems he has taken a break from Video, but he still posts in other forumns. Here's a link to his thread:

I am Very happy with my Ieq45 and C11-HD with a meade 3.3 reducer it works well. Your C8 should do very well as it is lighter..
I use this set up for all my video cameras

Thanks very much for your note, Bob. What do you figure your C11 arrangement weighs? My C8 setup (with a plate that also mounts an 80ED) runs about 30#, which is probably about what you are running. Thanks for reading.

Yes that's about right..I keep the C11 light at about 32#..
The mount tracks and is stable enough .I would keep the tripod low and do a good balance job...Its easy with there electronic routine.I use a 3.3 reducer most of the time.
