Since I have only seen pictures of the Atlas AZ/EQG(also applies to Skywatcher version) I can't tell what type of clutch it has. Does it employ a slip clutch like the Losmandy G11? Or is it a positve lock type (all on or all off) as found on most Celestron mounts?

The mount is out. The clutches are the same as on the Atlas.

As Rod said, "same as the Atlas," which means that the clutch presses a brass button against the surface of the ring gear drum in order to engage. The pressure that can be applied is variable.

That was what thought, not a total all on or all off, in reading other users experience.
