Just looked at the website and noticed their ad indicating that two scopes were making a comeback - one of them was the AT65EDQ - just wondering if that means they have that particular scope in stock. I am not sure what the wait list would look like on that one - but would be worth finding out!

Hopefully someone from Astronomics can respond!

Thanks,
Dhaval

The website indicates that the 65mm quad is "wait listed".

We're looking at the next scheduled shipment arriving in July, then another scheduled for late October/early November, another late January/early February, etc.

Thanks Fred! Any clue what the wait list might look like? I know I am on the wait list - but I just got onto it, so not sure if I will make the July cut or not.

Thanks,
Dhaval

Dhaval, when did you order yours? I just placed an order as well (4/24). Hoping I'll be in the July shipment too!

I'd like to get some time in with more wide field imaging. Ultimately I'll be saving up for an AT130 if they ever come back in stock.

Ditto. Thanks frebie for the update! Excited for my first real scope.

I'm already feeling the refractor disease... just when I kicked the camera lens one. Sigh... ;)

Sorry, to bring this back from the dead... but... eagerly anticipating the AT65EDQ shipment!

I figured since a couple others in this thread are waiting for the July shipment too and to kill some time, I'd ask you guys what else you are ordering.

I'll be picking up:
Some brand 1.25" diagonal (not sure yet, open to ideas)
Baader 8-24 hyperion zoom eyepiece
Baader T-Ring w/ 2" Nosepiece (not sure if I should get a filter for it just yet but looks like a lot of options).

So what else are you guys getting?

I can't wait either!

A dew heater strap for it will probably be all I add on.

Any idea on the ship date?

What (minor) it loses in resolution and light gathering ability, it makes up for with a very flat field. If astro-photography is your plan, the AT65EDQ is your scope.

We were told July. I keep checking astronomics to see if it comes off the "wait list" which means they have em. I can't wait for my first telescope.

I'm sure it will come as soon as I leave for vacation next week. Lol.

I think astronomics told me mid-late July back in May but to check back around now and they may have a better idea. Ill send a email later and see if they happen to have a expected date.

Nope. I've read people changed the focuser to accommodate a two inch diagonal for visual, the stock focuser can't bc of the field flattner lens. Was a older post so maybe they changed it since then.

Focuser doesn't need to be changed. You can view with it easily with a 2" diagonal. Use a 6mm or 10mm eyepiece.

But you can use almost all those sizes in a 1.25" diagonal, sans the 100 degree or wider. The problem with the 2" is there isn't enough in travel with the typical 2" diagonal. People fixed it by using a short light path 2" diagonal or changing the focuser to one with a shorter profile.
