Imaged with a Orion ED80T w/Borg .70 reducer. 15x240 sec's @ ISO 250. Spencer modded Nikon D5100 on a ZEQ25, guided with PHD/Lodestar/Borg 50mm. 12 June 2013.

Stacked median in DSS, processed in CS5 following Jerry L's tutorials. Thanks Jerry, never would have been able to pull the nebulas out of this mess of stars otherwise...:)

Best,

Paul

Thank you all for looking and for the nice comments.

@ Tim The 250 ISO helped a bit with the colors, I'm sure. I only had to pull up the colors a bit with 'Match Color' to get them where they are. Usually I have to do the 'Enhance Star Color' routine.

@ Pepe the stars are pretty, but really do make processing this area a big pain in the neck...:)

All the best,

Paul

I'm kind of curious. I finally got my camera back from Spencer's after 3 months and a visit from the police. He has an "F" rating from the Utah BBB and was an utter flake to deal with. Your experience?

Thanks Francisco and Nils.

@ jhousel, all I can say is "Wow". I didn't have any issues at all, except it took 3 weeks instead of the 2 weeks originally quoted. But, there was a Memorial Day 3 day weekend in the middle of the time period, so I wasn't too concerned.

Guess I got it done just in time??

Clear skies,

Paul

Well, it was a strange experience. I had a Nikon D5200 shipped direct to him based on an impressive web-site. The camera suffered from light leaks internally when I got it back. He was difficult to contact regarding fixing it, then after I sent it back to him he went incommunicado. After discovering the BBB report I grew very anxious, finally asking the local PD to stop by. My camera appeared immediately thereafter and appears to function correctly now...go figure. So I have high hopes for it yet, and will post here when I have those mythical "clear skies".

Thanks for the nice comment Erskin...

@ jhousel, Certainly glad it all worked out in the end, proof will be in how the camera images under clear skies?

I was contemplating sending him a D7100 for modding, now I have to think twice, or maybe 3 times?

Cheers,

Paul

Thank you Mike, I just wish these were in a less densely populated star area so they would 'pop' a bit more.

Best,

Paul

I don't have any experience with Spencer's but I can highly recommend Brent Oliver for modifying Nikons. He is a CN member and posts often under nofxrx. He did a good job on my D5100 and keeps you up to date on his progress.
