anyone know where i can find a relatively
inexpensive one? the televue acs0004 doesn't
seem to have the 'lip' as with the celestron 1/1/4 incher
I'm trying to mount a 2" denkmeier power switch
onto the back of a CPC1100... I guess I'll also need a
2" to 1.25" adapter for the WO binos.? any help with the above
would be grand, all considering I'm in the UK.
also a quick question, how do you 'balance' a CPC?
Do you slacken the fork wheel knut and simply balance?
many thanks Cloudy's !

I put a starizona counterweight kit on my CPC1100. With the dew shield on the front, I need a small weight up top to the front and the big weight close to the bar on the bottom at the rear to balance it.

How to balance is as you typed. Loosen the altitude clutch and point the scope straight up. Add/move weights as needed so it doesn't tip down, then move horizontal and add/move weights so it stays level. I have mine just slightly back heavy in the horizontal with a large 2" eyepiece in the diagonal.

Directions can be found here.

I got a 2" adapter for my Power x Switch diagonal when I ordered it, and the Power x Switch diagonal should have a 2" to 1-1/4" adapter with it.

many thanks

As Sorny mentioned, you should get the 2" adapter with your Power Switch, and it also comes with a 1.25" eyepiece adapter. Email Russ at Denkmeier to confirm. He is great to deal with. As for the filter switch, I would recommend spending the extra money and ordering your filter switch built into your Power Switch Diagonal. I have been very pleased with mine. In my opinion, these diagonals are one of the best accesssories available. Being able to enjoy three different magnifications and two different filters without taking your eye away from the eyepiece is an awesome observing experience.
As for the balancing issue, I have an ADM lower counterweight kit for my CPC 1100 and it works great. Anthony's products are high quality.

A quick call or email to Russ at Denkmeier will get your kit sorted out properly in no time.
Enjoy it, they are fantastic!

Dear Cloudys. The Denk arrived but has no dovetail connector !
I bought the item at a reduced price but it was advertised as having a DC
However there is no 2" adapter or 2" to 1.25 adapter. :(
I will email Russ at Denk and find out the right adapters.
Hopefully the seller with send me the DC.

Hey SBC,
Couple thoughts i'd mention, but Russ can certainly get you sorted out with it.
Mainly one of the parts that might help you is the SCT shorty adapter, it threads onto the diagonal body in place of the slip in barrel and then screws onto the SCT back. Ask Russ about using his SCT shorty adapter, he'll know exactly what your referring to. It keeps everything nice and tight, and shortens the light path a bit. You'll also have the barrel if you want to use it on another scope.

The Dovetail Connector is made to mount on a Denkmeier Binoviewer and most likely will not thread match with the W.O. Unit, but if it should have been included, you should have received it for sure, I'd contact the used seller, if you can't use it, you can make a few BPS to use towards your other parts.

What version / model Power x Switch Diagonal did you get exactly?
I have the R2 Dual Power x Switch, it's my most used piece of kit.
Enjoy,
Jeffrey G.

Dear Jeff
Thanks for your response and advice. The denk is an R1.
The seller did say a dovetail connector would come with it
Should it have also come with a 2" to 1.25" adapter as standard?
the seller is 'Hands on Optics' just north of washington and they said in the eBay that it was 'new old stock'. The denk is fine just abit miffed
There isn't an adapter and a dc. I've contacted Russ and he replied with
the three/parts I'd need.He also asked me to tell him the length of the diag scope side 2" tube.... will any SCT visual adapter work with the denk? or only the denk v.a? Ive wanted a PowerSwitch for a while - there are only two lenses in them right? A and B? is it possible to add a filter switch later?
will the R1 work with a CPC1100? Thanks Jeff for your help...

The Denkmeier Diagonal #R1 if purchased from Denkmeier would include:
The Power x Switch Diagonal, the Special Low Power S Cell, the Dovetail Connector, the Removable 2" Eyepiece Holder, the 2" to 1.25" Eyepiece Adapter, and Plastic caps/plugs.
Since you purchased it in an online auction, I think you need to read the auctions description very carefully for it's wording of what the item should come with, and if it had pictures they should be checked carefully, as well.
However, if it is missing anything from that description, I would contact the seller & work it out.
Yes, there are 2 lenses in the Power x Switch, and yes, a Filter x Switch can be added, Ask Russ about it, I know at one time he offered a kit that let you could add on the Filter x Switch yourself.
I have a separate Filter x Switch but that works for me because I have a bunch of different scopes, 2 Denk Binoviewers, and an adapter that lets the Filter x Switch be attached directly to a DSLR camera for astrophotography.
Again,
Keep following up with Russ until you are sure about what you need, I would also advise you to download & read the Power x Switch Diagonals user Manual from the Denkmeier Website. You can find it under Manuals on the left hand site menu.
As far as the R1 working on a CPC1100, I can't really answer that, but I hope so since that is what your trying to do.
My best advice at this point is to ask these questions of use to Russ, or maybe someone else who has the same unit can post if they've used it that way successfully and how.
Best of Luck,
Jeffrey G.

thanks Jeff. I've contacted the seller but so far no reply. I need to send Russ correct measurements on the inside diag scope tube length
/- I thought he meant the outside ... I think I know what he means now,
probably... well i hope the seller replies and that Russ can sort it out,
I'll need to buy the SCT visual back, or shorty, and the 2" to 1.25 " adapter...
many thanks again

I purchased a Virtual View - 2 inch Rotating Visual Back from Starizona specifically because it has no lip.

SBC,
I have purchased a few things from Hands On Optics without any problems, hopefully you'll get a response.
Let us know how it all works out for you.
Good Luck,
Jeffrey G.
PS, I have a 2 to 1.25 adapter I'd send you but I think it would be cost prohibitive?
