Well i found Another One.
I Would Say Early 1920's Like His Big Brother.
This One Measures 83mm Clear Aperture
And Focal Length Is 47.5
Im Just Going To Say 1923 Like The Other as Thats When
The Ad For These Are Dated.

Almost time to build that building to house all those scopes. Garage must be getting a bit cramped. :smirk:

I was watching that one on eBay a couple of weeks ago, then all of a sudden, poof! It was gone. Now I know where.

Good job Brian. :waytogo:

I wondered what that was when I saw in in the eBay photos. I thought it looked quite curious.

Those filters are just sheet Plexiglass.
Can't see how they would be useful.
Maybe I can make a lens cap with
one.

I do not believe that to be a gun sight, the way the mounting holes are positioned would place the sight over bore height too far off, and also very far to the side off axis. With a radius that short it would be pretty much useless. I'm guessing it is some sort of crude finder scope styled after iron sights of the period.

thanks tara....first light last night....perfect star test
and excellent optics.
also went back out at 5 this morning and caught moon.
going to have to do a side by with the 90mm sears
optics just like i thought...not 100mm like the last one
only 83mm but wow. glad it only took me about a minute
to pop for this one. i remember comparing the last one with the tinsley saturn
and optics matched and B&L mount was sturdier.
(ask caveman about optics on his tinsley)
after a bit of viewing i realized i was steadying myself
with the tripod and holding on to one leg....no diagonal
so i was on my knees. they sure knew how to make a
alt-az mount back then. shake time is about 2 seconds.
Try that with a 90mm sears...LOL
in my opinion easily worth trice what it cost me.
only you i and several others (Most form Here) would have recognized
what this was right off the bat....
i am surprised you did not bite your lip and hit the ebay BIN button.
(know how you feel About Evilbay)
thanks for that. :flower:

you could be right about that...going to see if i can
use this as intended with this scope....maybe mount
finder on a ring.
