I've been out of the loop here for a long while but have been popping in/out for the last month or so and realized I haven't seen any posts by the esteemed Prof Edz!

Searching his past history I see he hasn't posted in over 2mos or even started an new thread/review in at least a year and a half. Plus he is no longer a CN mod or Admin.

Whassup with him? Off writing a bino book or starting his own binocular review website I hope!?

Hi Rick,

Ed has been very busy over the past year developing a professional presence on the internet, mainly via twitter.

Unrelated to optics.

He still pops in here from time to time as a viewer.

Hello gents.

A google alert directed me to this post.

Kenny is correct. For the past year I have been working hard to develop a professional presence among my peers with regard to providing expert opinion on Construction Economics and Construction Market Conditions. I write a quarterly comprehensive report, provide support to all divisions within my company and now also give outside presentations. I sometimes blog and always tweet information related to my topic.

Although I've been distributing this quarterly report internally for several years, in little more than a year, with the help of our national marketing department, we've taken the report public and it is now viewed (most recently) by over 4000 readers.

Along with that some personal stuff has kept me completely occupied.

Hope all is well with all of you.

Thanks for that confirmation, Ed.

I was deliberately restrictive with my previous reply.

I would love to see Edz. publish a comprehensive book on binoculars.
Such a vast knowledge base should be documented in hard cover as well as on line.

Somehow I doubt EdZ to be the kind of person who would violate CN's TOS. :D

I miss his sky observations and his many test reports. He had a good standard procedure down and you could trust his results. Work!? Come on Ed, what kind of excuse is that!

EdZ has done more than anyone to make this forum the definitive forum for binocular astronomy on the web. I wish he'd produce some forensically detailed reports on the top European 10x50 and 12x50 roofs.

Incidentally, where is BillC - where is the forum curmudgeon?

zdee may have become disenchanted with binoculars per say as he was burned with a pair of 20X80s of Chinese manufacture. I did offer him a pair of Japanese 20X80s at a good price.

The last I heard Bill C is writing for Herb York for a nickel a word. Bill should make the Fortune 500 in no time with his unparalleled verbosity.

As for EdZ he will always remain the supreme quantifier of this forum.

I echo your appreciation for the knowledge BillC and EdZ have so generously given to all on the binocular forum.
