Wow 8x10 would be good for landscapes.
Velvia 50 is great for a solar eclipse.

The real question is, did they also buy enough chemicals to process all that film?

I wonder what he is going to do with the fridges after he finishes shooting the film? While 8x10 is a great landscape format, my suspicion is that this photographer is a fashion/commercial/portrait guy. Those folks are more likely to have the cash to buy and develop that film.
