Do you know the weight of the "front mounted" Lunt 100 and the Coronado SolarMax II 90mm?I am thinking of purchasing one of these, but am concerned about balance.

Lunt's website says the LS100FHa is 8lbs. I'm not at all sure how accurate that is.

I'm coming up with a bit over 7 pounds for the 90MM Etalon and tuner.

I've no direct experience of the Lunt front mounted 100mm etalons but my Solarscope SF-100 is heavy enough (around 5 lbs for a single stack unit) to have a significant effect on the tube balance, though easily countered by sliding the tube to a different position on the dovetail & moving the counterweight a bit further down the Dec shaft. The weight distribution also makes the mount's job much harder, damping time for vibrations can be increased unless the mount is specified for a much heavier load than that actually used.

It's certainly something to take into consideration.
