Brothers Star Party (formerly the Mt. Bachelor Star Party) September 4 through September 8, 2013.
http://www.mbsp.org/

This is 4 weeks after the Oregon Star party.

Since I couldn't make the OSP, I'm going to this one or bust.

Any other people going to this astronomy event?

Now that is very intriguing. I miss the Mt. Bachelor SPs.

Maybe.

Yes, I sort of looked it over via Google Earth a couple of months ago. It oughta be *real* dark.

This has certainly piqued my interest as well. I've driven through that area late evenings/early mornings and it's quiet dark.

"Quiet dark" is my favorite kind, at least absent music from a really good band. ;)

August is half over. only two and a half weeks till BSP.

Anyone going to this?

Hopefully there won't be any bad weather or smoke to diminish the views.

I'm thinking about it pretty hard!
Anyone know how many people attend this start party?

A lot less people than OSP I imagine, but it has a lot more than a local star party. Not sure if any vendors will be there. I'll know more once I get there. There are lots of people also setting off rockets during the day. Not fireworks rockets, but model rockets.

I (Tele Vue) would love to be there but alas all starparties have to have the exact same date (s) I'll be at Idaho Star Party, on this date. :tonofbricks:
I was at OSP. I miss Mt Bachelor SP.

Dang it! I was hoping to look through some premium Tele Vue glass attached to an NP-101. :(

Hope to see you at the next OSP.

It looks as if I'll not make it after all. I'll go to this one instead. It's in the same direction from home but 2 1/2 or 3 hrs. less driving each way. Skies won't be as fabulous but they aren't bad there at all (somewhat better than Table Mtn.)

Best wishes to success!

Thinking about going, need to get some more time in on the new 20" telescope. Long drive so will see what the wether is going to do. Looks like a great site.

I sure hope you do decide to go. I'd love to see your ATM scope and meet you.

The Brothers Star party starts tomorrow. Gate will be open AM. Chance of T-storms Wednesday night, but only a chance. Thursday night on will be clear. Hope to see you there.

It was a success! Good times were had by all who attended.

I had the smallest aperture 4" there LOL. I got to look through lots of great optics. There were 10" through 24" dobs (many with premium mirrors), 6" refractor and lots of Cats & Casses.

Anyway here's my modest instrument awaiting Venus and Saturn.

How about having the Brothers Star Party in July this year, since GSSP is in late June and OSP is in August?
