"Researchers using the Hubble Space Telescope have discovered new evidence that the merger of two small, super-dense stellar objects (neutron stars, etc) is responsible for producing short-duration gamma ray bursts."

That is very disappointing. I had always hoped it was the sign that a starship was going to warp!
