Just letting everyone know that the CN Classic Telescope forum will have a booth at NEAF 2014. After a successful 2012 show, we sat out for 2013. I've picked up the gauntlet along with Jon miles to bring the show to NEAF once again. For details and information about bringing your scope, please look for the "sticky" thread at the top of the classic telescope forum.

Thanks

Turk

Hello!

The Classic telescope group will be settling in to booths 55 & 56 for the NEAF show coming up next week.

We have a great lineup of classic telescopes. We have an outstanding collection of Cave telescopes this year including a 12.5 deluxe transportable, a 9' tall 10" cave cassegrain, 8" and 10" cave deluxes including a chrome deluxe, and even a 6" Richfield handheld.

We have an outstanding lineup of Unitron telescopes from 2.5" all the way up to a massive and rare 5" model 510 reaching 12' high! Of course we will have a 4" Unitron with mechanical clock drive.

Questar is loaning us a 1950's classic telescope that normally is on display in their front lobby.

Many more telescopes to look at.

Eyepieces, drive correctors, Byers gears, the old cameras and much much more. Stop in and say "Hi" to fellow CN members as we display some of the wonderful telescopes from the 50's - 70's. Bring your cameras and we will see you there!

I tried asking a question on Sunday but the two people at the booth at the time were engrossed in a conversation.

What was the vintage of the Q towards the front?

I'll second that. The 10" Cave Cassegrain was quite interesting.

It looked pretty cool! I bet that if those scopes were back in production you would have sold a bunch!

The Questar on the table was produced in 1964. It is actually the 3.5" from the Questar showroom, which Questar Corporation was kind enough to lend us for our table display!

I'm sorry we weren't able to talk at NEAF...I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have here, or by PM!

Clear Skies!

Just now found the thread, but I enjoyed your display. I talked to a couple of you there and I admired your scopes, greatly... and your eyepiece collections, wow!
Hope you return next year.
