Seems an effort is about to get underway next month to look into the issue of "the density and temporal and spatial variability of dust particles that may get lofted into the atmosphere." Responsible for detail obscuring TLP phenomena, perhaps? ;) Maybe, if the mission is successful, we'll be finding out more soon.

Thanks Mardi, I first read about The electrostatic Origin of TLP's in "Observing and Photographing the Solar System" by Dobbins, Parker and Chapen. It seems that a few yeas later Dobbins along with Sheehan in "Epic Moon", only believed in "atmospheric prismatic dispersion for TLP'S. This new mission should be interesting. Thanks again.
