Hi all.
I just picked up a nice used Tak FS-102 and am looking for a mount for it. My current CG5 clone isn't very smooth so I'm looking for ideas. This will be used mostly for visual with the occasional photo. GM8, EQxx ? I might have a chance at a Williams GT1, a bit pricy and overkill perhaps but....
Thanks in advance, cheers....dave.

I should add that portability is an asset as my back yard faces north......

Or even the Vixen GP2 which is on sale right now with the HAL 130 tripod. Especially if you want it for mostly visual. But once you put RA and DEC motors on the Vixen you can buy a Celestron VX goto for less money that has more load capacity

I would get the Losmandy GM 8, digital drive if you want a mount that will last and has parts available.

The iOptron iEQ45 would be a huge upgrade from your CG-5 and only a small increase in weight. The mount head weighs only 25 pounds, but has a 45 pound capacity. It would handle that scope easily for visual or AP.

I also vote for a ZEQ25.

I'd go for the GM8, the slip clutches are really nice. Just push the scope where you want and it keeps on tracking. Wish my EM200 had them, I have to unlock/lock the knobs to move the scope.
