Are we going to "re-use" our 2012 CN nametags for 2013 ??

Or.... might there be a "new" design in the works ??

I'm not sure what's going to happen. I kept my 2012 nametag. It sounds like there won't be a base for CN people, this time. I haven't heard anything about trying to have a get-together, either. We just went out to eat in competition with dark skies and 3 observing sites running, last time. It's a full moon, so getting people together may be easier.

It's still a while off, we may yet get some kind of name tags together. Last year all I did was print them. :shrug:

I think I have card stock left over from last year to print some up. Steph or Joe had plastic holders and neck straps too. If given enough time ahead of time we can accommodate folks. I suspect blank cards will be available for slackers. :)

The blank cards should have crayons provided to write with.

Darn, I left my crayons in the Phoenix sun, so I won't be there! :grin:

No, seriously, I've got my nametag from last year and hopefully I'll be down there for the convention. We should try again for a dinner get-together. As someone pointed out, on a full-moon night, there would probably be more people to attend.

Still have my 2012 tag, but other issues may prevent my attendance this year. I probably won't know until the last minute. :p

Could I be a PIA and ask one of you guys to post a picture of your name tag? I have the stuff here to make one up just in case we don't have any mass produced. Thanks!

I think I ended up with the plastic holders. I even think I know where they are in the lab. :ubetcha:

Ron;

If you will please make me a name tag, I would appreciate it. I will be at the Springer desk, hopefully signing some books for you guys.

Looking forward to it;
Steve Coe

Well the name tags are a bit of a problem. Joe used fancy software and then flattened them as images. When I tried to open in Acrobat Pro they wouldn't edit and had to export them. Exporting destroyed half of them, the other half are still images. Going to try photoshop next.

So new folks (e.g. stevecoe) likely won't have their artwork on their name tag. :p

Dang software! :shakecane:

I was able to print mine from Paint. But I don't know if that would translate to a sheet of nametag pre-perforated paper stock. I don't know enough about Paint to make an educated guess.

We didn't use perforated stock, I just whipped out my pocket knife and cut those suckers. I may bring my paper cutter this time around.

Make sure you stop by the booth. The CN part is unmanned and we are not broadcasting, but it could be a nice place to put your feet up.

I just printed out the one I sent you on a sheet of paper, doubled up the paper and stuck it into a badge holder and it doesn't look too bad. And I do have some lanyards and badge holders that I'll bring.

Sweet! I was looking for something else a month or two ago and ran across the generic ID card sheets. Think I could find them this weekend? Nope. :p Got new carpet last year and I'm still looking for stuff when we had to move everything. :shakecane:

Officially on Plan B (David, yours printed out fine). Windows box blue screened on me and will need to be rebuilt. Don't have Photoshop on the Mac so my tools are limited. :p I think I need a Mac Mini.

So blank cards will be available and I'll have copies of last years cards for you silly repeat visitors. :whee:

Did you print it right from Paint? If so, you can transfer any of those that you have using Copy and Paste. That's how I did mine. I used the template that you sent me, hilited my name tag, copied it and then pasted it in Paint. I had to mess with it a little to resize it, but it wasn't difficult.
