Thank you all for your comments :)

yes this Istar Optical lenses optimized for h-Alpha ( sphérocromatism optimized in red wavelenght) is very good!!!
I used for a long time a very good AP155 mm F/D 8.5 to make my solar images, but there we go into another world!!!

I am certainly going to build soon a 280 or 300 mm in FD 12 or 15 ( folded refractor)

the 230 mm works also well in lunar

Magnificent J-P..!!! :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

A 300mm refractor.....that would be a veritable monster - even though some folks might think a 9"/230mm is already!!! :)

I guess you don't take that scope to Star Parties! I'd love to see what a 300mm refractor looks like with you standing next to it for comparison. Amazing Sun shot JP, your dedication to this hobby is off the charts!

Pete,Wenjha Thank you :)

Pete the next 280 or 300mm refractor will be a folded refractor, thus less impressive ;)
