I like shopping online because of the deals but I also wish to support a local store. That and it would be nice to actually look something over before buying it and getting feedback from the people in there and just to meet locals that are having fun loosing sleep like me. I live in a college town with no astronomy club and cant find any stores even in the cities around me. I live in Tahlequah OK and the major cities around me are Tulsa OK, Joplin MO, and Fayetteville AR. I live in the corner of the state obviously. If there are any fellow astronomers in the area please pm me or if anyone knows of a store or club near me by all means let me know. Thanks everyone for reading

I tried googling stores and clubs in these cities and I found the Tulsa club but they meet west of tulsa which is too far away for regular meeting but also no store.

The Astronomy Club of Tulsa meets at the TCC NE Campus three miles west of the airport, a few miles NE of downtown. Next meeting is Friday, Sept 20. If it's clear, many members meet for public outreach next to Bass Pro in Broken Arrow, more convenient to you, the following night. Bass Pro is heavily light polluted, especially near full moon, but it's OK for brighter objects.

The observatory is about 30 mi SSW of downtown, near Mounds, OK. To get there from Talequah, you'd probably want to go west from Muskogee and north from Beggs. We get quite a few from Claremore and Bartlesville; you're closer than the Bartlesville folks and not a lot further than Claremore!

Astronomics, in Norman, has a very nice retail store that's worth a trip. Plan on a full day between round-trip travel from Talequah and shopping. Avoid OU Football home game days!

Skip,
I contacted the tulsa president and working on becoming a member now, which is exciting cause astronomy has always been between just me and myself and maybe a Girlfriend or two Ive had since Ive started. And will have to stop in Normal next time I go out to the panhandle for dark skies and camping.
