Reading between the lines on the Nova forum, there are about 12-15 Nova hitches going out in the next few weeks. I figure some must be going to CNers. If you are getting one, what are you putting on it?
Mine is going to have a FS128 with a 60q on top, can't wait for it to get here!

You have to read between the lines to know when your mount will be delivered?

I'm waiting on one to use with an AP 130GT and an FS102. No issues on the extended wait, never once have I seen a post stating that one of Charles' mounts had problems on delivery. It seems that he's shipped most if not all Novas to prior customers who provided input that have helped Charles maximize an excellent design.

I spoke with Charles yesterday about ordering a loaded Nova from this run. I was told that if ordered today, it would be delivered within 3 to 4 weeks time. It is the end of the first run of these and there are a few left over, so a good time to order with a short wait for delivery.

Rod- not sure if you are reading too much into my post. I was told my mount would be delivered in 3 weeks or so. My original post referred to the fact that Charles said he was going to be shipping about 5 Novas a week starting this week, so a dozen or so should make it to the field before mine.

To second what Adam said, Charles is using feedback from the first few mounts to make some simple, but significant (and expensive) tweaks- with no price increase. I have no problem waiting a few extra weeks to get a very high quality product. I have previously owned a Mini Hitch- it was beautifully machined, my expectations are very high for its big brother.

A TSA 102 is waiting for the nova hitch and tripod. I can't wait. The CG-4 is great and all... :)

A TSA 102s 'over the pond' also, with a newly purchased (natural ash) Berelbach Planet waiting patiently....

...with the tracking unit to follow ;-)

....then a TEC140 to go with it!

I still need to figure out the tripod when not in my observatory. I like the Nova tripod, but don't have the funds right now. I will probably look for a used Losmandy heavy duty tripod.

I'll be using the long DM tripod. Should work great with the 102, the 130 will be a test. I'd love a beefier tripod, but have found the DM to be a great performer and very light weight. Several folks have used it for 140s and larger refractors so I'm hopeful for the GT.

I didn't think of the DM tripod, but did consider looking for a long Tak tripod used.

Anyone have feedback on the tripod from the Binoscope company?

Mounting the 115 on my fully loaded Nova. I'm going to use the Oberwerk Jarrah Hardwood Tripod until the Nova tripod arrives.

Brian, did you order the drives? I got the encoders and Sky Commander, but wanted to see the drives in action.

I ordered the drives though I don't anticipate them installed if my mount delivers in the next six weeks. It's a new from the bottom up system and I'm thinking that Charles is going to make certain they're bullet proof before shipping them. It'll be worth the wait no doubt.

Hi Wormstar

Yes, I ordered the drives, the encoders, the tripod quick release and the tripod. Just couldn't seem to stop!

In truth, I've been waiting for 10 years for a mount like this be produced. It seems the perfect solution for binoviewing my refracter.

I ordered the Nova with: Cassegrain upgrade, encoders, robotic slo-mo (drives), and tripod adapter. Will be mounting a Tak Mewlon 250 on the Nova. Near term, my tripod will be a PWT Pinnacle portable pier(7-inch model).

I just got word that my Nova shipped out and should be here tomorrow. I ended up buying a Folding Losmandy tripod new off Amart for a good price($500) that I will use in the field, much of the time the Nova will be in my obs. I have had many GEM mounts including a Paramount ME, but they were all overkill for the visual use that I do. I'm hoping the Nova will be perfect. I started machining an adapter to mount the Nova on my pier and the tripod.
