I took my Questar out around 7:45 pm tonight, Sept 29, for a view of Venus. I had to be quick because Venus was already low and dropping fast.
Here was my fast technique. Plop the 'scope onto my concrete pedestal with markings for the leg positions. Forget polar alignment. Set the Dec for Venus, -13 deg. Swing the RA around until Venus was in the viewfinder. Turn on the powerglide. Elapsed time maybe 5 minutes from the door.
Venus in a hurry!
