We acquired a Meade 8-24 zoom eyepiece via purchase of a telescope. We have been so impressed we are looking to buy another (multiple astonomer, multiple scope family). But before we do, we want to know for sure what it is.

It looks like the one at this Astronomics link and has Japan printed on it. The previous owner only remembers that they had the scope for years.

Would rather invest time in finding an "old used copy" vs being disappointed buying a newer (China) version.

Thanks.

IIRC, this one was made by Vixen and was identical to the Vixen, the Celestron, and the TeleVue of the time: 8-24mm, made in Japan.
It's still available under the Vixen label, but no longer under the other labels.

Okay, the price is quit different from the current Meade version. Makes more sense as to the quality we are seeing. Thanks Starman1
