When walking the dog this morning I had a beautiful view of Mars and Regulus. Both are less then a degree apart. Even with my unaided eyes I could easily see the color differences between the two objects. Mars appearing a pale orange color compared to the whiteish color of Regulus. I could also see that Mars was slightly fainter then Regulus.

Got my 12x63 binoculars and the view was spectacular! The color difference between the two objects is even more pronounced! Mars appears orange while Regulus takes on a cool white (bluish?) color. Both are quite bright. A beautiful sight. Take a look while you can,

Yeah, saw it walking to the car this morning. Very nice.

Mars moved quite a bit since the last time I saw the pair...

It is a beautiful sight indeed. Since I wake up early anyway, I'm outside in the yard every morning possible having my coffee under the stars.
