For some reason, your fuzzy cat looks German. Like a cat version of a German Shepherd maybe.

I have a lot of respect for anyone setting up and tearing down a C14 as part of a non-permanent setup.  :waytogo:

New to me C11 carbon fiber.   With .63 reducer, A/P maxbright diagonal, 12mm Delos.

On Unistar Deluxe with Uni 18 tripod.

The OTA is in great condition, cannot wait to try out the scope next week hopefully!

Looks good.  The VB/Diagonal looks a little long so the Reducer may work closer to 0.5X.

I was thinking that also.

Guess the only way to get the path shorter would be an SCT diagonal attached directly to the reducer....but I really wanted to try the Maxbright...so we'll see how it goes.

Here is my new Vixen VMC200L cooling down before first light.  I've had it out two nights now and I'm pretty happy with it.

Ditto with a laser and no brick! :) I love my 200L.

The Meade LXD750 mount is massive and extremely stable.

Setup and tear down is a chore, for sure.

The motor still slews, points and tracks that SSC 12" OTA like day #1.

I have never seen another 12" SSC mounted on an LDX750 drive at any star party, ever.

And I still don't know what the "SSC" abbreviation  means = "Super Schmidt Cassegrain" ?

It was a lucky purchase, for sure ...

Hi All...

This is my 10" Tak Mewlon  which last night I set it up at the local library for outreach activities, and the local residence are queuing and waiting for a look at Jupiter through the eye-piece of this telescope....

The following photo shows one of our outreach group using her hand phone to snap a photo of the Mewlon telescope mounted with a televue hand phone adapter , and the hand phone display is showing Mars at 300X...with a 4X (hand phone) zoom

looks like anyone with a hand phone that can do manual setting , when mounted with the televue adapter can take nice photos and video....

Since I put together pictures to respond to another thread, I might as well drop it here too. My Frankenscope-

It is a 9.25" EdgeHD sitting on an Evolution mount on the heavy duty tripod you can purchase which matches the CPC1100.

I use Baader ClickLock SCT threaded EP holder to attach the Baader BBHS 2" mirror diagonal (dielectric coated silver). I show here with a 41 Pan in but also use 21 Ethos, 13 Ethos and 10 Delos in this setup.

I also have a shorty SCT to T-2 thread adapter that I hook up to a Baader T-2 Zeiss Prism diagonal which directly threads into TeleVue Bino Vue setup, for which I have two Baader ClickZoom EPs and two Panoptic 24mm.

Both setups clear zenith fine, thanks to the ADM Vixen style dovetail.

You might also notice the telrad I use early in the night to peak at bright objects like planets in solar system align mode, the Celestron 9x50 RACI I use with the clutches unlocked and the 41 Pan to "pan" around the sky manually, and the Celestron StarSense I use for automated alignment and tracking. (in real use those three - the raci, telrad, and skysense - are never really on at the same time - just figured why not throw then all on for the picture) It also has a SkySync GPS which I attach to the handle so I never have to unplug/replug to avoid cord wrap. I also have on there the AstroZap FlexiHeat dew shield for C9.25, attached to a Thousand Oaks dew controller with four channels.

Not shown but planning to add is a Deep Space Products TEMPest fan system, which I plan to hook up into the dew controller to avoid additional cord wrap concern.

Cheers-
