Hi Friends,

I have a Takahashi TSA102 that came with a clamshell tube holder.

Would you please advise how do I mount it to a Vixen-style saddle (my mount is GPDX).

I believe I'll need a matching dovetail plate, but I need advise regarding:

- The right plate length for that scope.
- Where to get the properly sized screws to fit into the Tak clamshell holes.
- Well.. the actual part number would be very nice :)

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience..

I used an ADM VDUP7 Vixen plate bolted directly to the clamshell. Balance the OTA fore and aft in the clamshell, a 6MM or 1/4x 20 bolt will work with a locknut.

I would recommend that you don't rely on just one 1/4" bolt to hold such a beautiful bit of kit.
The clamshell has 8.5mm holes drilled 35mm apart in line with the 1/4" hole,
I recommend you drill the dovetail plate and tap some M8 threads into these holes to secure the OTA to the dove plate. Then use 2 stainless steel M8 cap screws for a nice secure fit.
Just my 2 cents but I would hate to see a Tak Teaser hit the floor.

I actually changed to a Robin Casady saddle and dovetail which are designed just for this situation:
