I have been offered to train my club for the basics of astro-photography. I am considering offering the attendees the option to buy a tracking mount at a reasonable profit.
I have the Vixen Polarie but the iOpteron option when coupled with a tripod and Polar scope is far cheaper than an equivalent Vixen configuration. I have not tried the iOpteron version, is it any good or should I stick to the Polarie?
I suspect the people attending this workshop will be price sensitive as they are not yet fully committed to the hobby. So if the iOpteron performs well and is trouble free, I would rather sell them the lower cost option
iOpteron Skytracker or Vixen Polarie
